Heritage Impact Assessment and Archaeological Investigations for the Barbados

CHC conducted a comprehensive Heritage Impact Assessment (HIA) and archaeological

investigations for the proposed development in Bridgetown, Barbados and within the world heritage

property of Historic Bridgetown and its Garrison. The project involved archival research,

archaeological and architectural monitoring, geophysical assessments, stakeholder engagement, and

the assessment of potential impacts on the historic urban landscape, ensuring compliance with

national and world heritage requirements and international good practice.

Key Results: Identified and assessed archaeological deposits and built heritage features, enabling the

integration of heritage considerations into project planning while supporting regulatory compliance

and sustainable urban development.
